My inner geek loves music that follows a cheesy sci fi story.  Gary Numan is top on my list with Replicas being my favorite album Numan is involved in. He later switched to more “traditional” lyrics in his songwriting, but this is from a very cool period of his career with Tubeway Army.  He keeps it simple and sprinkles some robot rape on top.  No big deal.

I was really into Coheed and Cambria for a while.  Claudio Sanchez wrote a comic book for each album laying out the story, whereas the songs gave you the basics.  The story just got to be too damn much.  There were mages, sorcerers, and the FBI.  Not to mention the main character had a gun for an arm and was half robot.

Many attempt, but few can get it right.  For long, anyway.
